As I write this post there are now around 700 days left until ACEC2014, which is being held at the  Adelaide Convention Centre from September 30 until October 3 2014.

In case you haven’t heard CEGSA is the host organisation for this national conference all about the latest in digital technologies in education and we are already preparing in readiness for a fantastic conference. Part of our preparations for ACEC2014 involved the actual handover of conference responsibilities from ACEC2012 to our delegation, which took place on the final day of ACEC2012 in Perth and we would like to share with you, our members, what CEGSA was doing at this year’s national conference.

CEGSA’s hard-working ACEC2014 delegation!

CEGSA had a great, hard-working team that went over to Perth this year. We were represented by Trudy Sweeney, Tina Photakis, Christine Haynes, Jacqui Knipe, Al Upton, Ralph Leonard, Kym Martin, and Paul Heubl.

Our goal was to create a buzz of excitement for ACEC2014 and to encourage as many delegates as possible to continue their connections from ACEC2012 and become connected with ACEC2014. If you haven’t already – sign up for the latest news at acec2014.com

One of the many blinged badges!

We did this in 2 main ways. The first activity was our “bling your badge” station which gave delegates the chance to decorate their conference badge with some fantastic bling and to spread the word very visually about ACEC2014.

Our other activity was our ACEC2014 postcards – all of which can be seen on the ACEC2014 Facebook page. At this station delegates were photographed in front of a green screen and then, through the magic of Photoshop, they were  digitally transported to Adelaide so they could see themselves there in 2014. They also received a very yummy South Australian Haigh’s chocolate – which proved to be  a very popular reward for standing in front of the camera!

The more formal part of our duties in Perth was to take part in the handover ceremony on the final morning of the conference, at which  CEGSA were officially “handed”  conference responsibilities for ACEC2014 and received the cheque that starts the funds for organising the next national conference.

As part of this launch we premiered our ACEC2014 launch video which we would like to share with you now and hopefully you too will start to share in the excitement that is building in the lead-up to ACEC2014

Finally CEGSA would like to thank the ACEC2012 organising committee who were so welcoming and helpful to our delegation, the delegates and trade sponsors who are already building the excitement for ACEC2014 and lastly our own delegation who worked so tirelessly in the lead-up to ACEC2012 and during the time we were there. We are already looking forward to a great national conference!
