EdTechSA is promoting a fantastic and FREE learning event on Friday 4 August, 2017.
Steve Morrill is currently the Director of Technology & Cyber Science at Loyola Blakefield in Towson Maryland. Prior to joining Loyola Blakefield he spent 13 years managing and teaching technology in the higher education space.
Over the past few years, Steve and his students have been invited to speak at various schools helping to raise awareness, but not paranoia, in the use of social media. His presentations are tailored for the specific audience to help each group understand both the benefits and dangers of our modern on line world.
Professional development for teachers related to cyber security is of critical importance. All students need a basic foundation in cyber to participate in today’s digital society. Understandably so there are many teachers that do not feel prepared to tackle this subject area in their classes. Cyber is not just a topic reserved for computer science teachers. All disciplines can and should integrate cyber concepts into their lessons….and it is easier than you may think! Through educational tools like CompTIA Cyber Teacher, LifeJourney, and various cyber challenges we will give ALL teachers the confidence to deliver this content to their students.
