This year, Australia celebrated World Teachers Day on Friday October 26th. CEGSA was invited to send a delegation to attend a presentation evening hosted by CEASA  at the Education Development Centre, Hindmarsh. This event was attended by The Minister for Education, the DECD Chief Executive and the CEO of Credit Union SA who were all part of the official proceedings for the night.

CEGSA president, Dr Trudy Sweeney receives the Innovative Association Award from CEASA Executive Director, Phil Callen

CEGSA was fortunate enough to be represented in two award categories.

The first of these categories was the presentation of the association awards and CEGSA was capably represented in this area by Christine Haynes – CEGSA Educator of the Year 2012 and Kim Martin – CEGSA Leading Light 2012. Watch this blog space for more upcoming information about these two inspirational teachers.

CEGSA was also very proud to be awarded a further accolade for the evening when we were announced to be the winners of the SA Innovative Association Award. This award was a recognition of the ways in which CEGSA, as professional association of educators and school leaders,  promotes and supports teaching and learning with Information and Communication Technologies across the curriculum and the study of Information Technology as a discipline. It also recognised how CEGSA connects pre-service teachers and educators from across all sectors.CEGSA is very proud of our achievements in these areas and we look forward to building upon our fine start in this area as we work towards our national conference in 2014.
